Privacy Policy

Introduction
Muddy Hogs ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website muddyhogs.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We currently sell and ship within the United States.
Information We Collect
- Order information. When you place an order we collect your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, phone number (if you provide one), and the items you purchased.
- Payment information. Card and wallet details are entered directly into our payment processor, Stripe, and are transmitted to Stripe rather than to us. We never receive or store your full card number. We do receive a confirmation of payment, the amount, and the last four digits and brand of the card.
- Email address for marketing. If you subscribe through a signup form on the Site, or place an order without opting out of marketing email at checkout, we collect your email address and first name (where provided) for the purposes described under "Marketing Email" below.
- Log data. Our hosting provider automatically logs standard request data such as IP address, browser type and version, pages requested, referring page, and time of request.
- Device and usage data for advertising. Our advertising pixel collects information about your visit, including pages and products viewed and purchases made. See "Advertising and the Meta Pixel" below.
- Local browser storage. We store your shopping cart in your browser's local storage so it survives a page reload, and we store a short marker after a completed order so a purchase is not counted twice. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us as such.
How We Use Your Information
- To process, fulfill, and ship your order, and to send order confirmations and delivery updates
- To respond to inquiries and provide customer support
- To send marketing email about new designs, restocks, and promotions, unless you have opted out
- To measure and target advertising, including advertising shown to you on Meta platforms
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site, including protecting our signup forms from automated abuse
- To comply with legal obligations and to detect and prevent fraud
Marketing Email
We use Brevo to send marketing email. Your address is added to our mailing list in one of two ways:
- You enter it into a newsletter signup form on the Site.
- You place an order and leave the marketing checkbox at checkout selected. That checkbox is selected by default and appears before you submit payment, so you can opt out before your address is ever added.
Either way, every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect promptly and does not affect your order, your order confirmations, or your ability to buy from us again. You can also ask us to remove you at any time through our Contact page.
Transactional messages about an order you placed — confirmation, shipping, delivery, refunds, or a problem with your order — are not marketing, and you will continue to receive them even if you have unsubscribed from marketing email.
Advertising and the Meta Pixel
The Site uses the Meta Pixel, an advertising and analytics technology provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. The pixel sets cookies and sends Meta information about your activity on the Site, including page views, products viewed, items added to your cart, checkout steps reached, and completed purchases, along with your IP address and browser information.
Meta uses this to measure our ad performance and to show our ads to you and to people with similar interests. This disclosure is required because sharing data with an advertising platform in this way may be treated as "sharing" or "selling" personal information for targeted advertising under some U.S. state privacy laws.
You can limit this. Browser-level tracking protection or an ad blocker will generally block the pixel, and Meta offers its own ad preference controls in your Facebook or Instagram account settings. If you would like us to delete advertising data we hold that is associated with you, contact us using the details below.
Site Analytics
We use a privately hosted Umami analytics service to understand which pages and products people visit and how shoppers move through the store. We record store events such as searches, product views, option selections, cart activity, checkout starts, newsletter signups, and contact-form submissions. We do not send contact-message contents, email addresses, names, payment details, or shipping addresses to Umami.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working (for example, our bot-protection challenge, cart, attribution, and your session if you log in), measure site activity, and support advertising measurement through the Meta Pixel described above.
Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it with the following service providers, only as needed for them to perform their function:
- Stripe — payment processing. Receives your payment details, name, email, and billing address.
- Printful — print-on-demand fulfillment and shipping. Receives your name, shipping address, email, and order contents so your order can be produced and delivered.
- Brevo — support, transactional, and marketing email delivery. Receives contact details and message contents when you submit the support form, plus marketing information when you subscribe.
- Umami — privately hosted site analytics and store-event measurement.
- Meta Platforms — advertising and measurement, as described above.
- Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery, and bot protection on our signup forms.
- Appwrite — hosting for product images and for account authentication.
Each of these providers handles your information under its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Data Retention
We retain order records for as long as needed to fulfill the order and to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations. We retain marketing contacts until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you, after which we may keep a minimal suppression record so we do not email you again by mistake. Log data is retained on our providers' standard schedules.
Your Rights and Choices
Regardless of where you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete your information, subject to records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons
- Stop sending you marketing email, and stop sharing your information for targeted advertising
To make a request, contact us through our Contact page. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights under state privacy law; we honor the requests above for everyone rather than asking you to establish residency.
Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, and payment details are handled by Stripe rather than passing through our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If we make a material change to how we use your information, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
